The Matthew Murphy Foundation is committed to uplifting people and families facing adversity by providing essential support and resources. Through fundraising efforts and community partnerships, we strive to help victim-families and advocates overcome obstacles and rebuild their lives. Our mission is rooted in hope, resilience, and empowerment, ensuring that every family has the opportunity to move forward and thrive after tragedy. By uniting compassionate individuals and organizations, we create meaningful pathways toward healing and a brighter future.
He was funny, smart, and magnetic. In typical teenage fashion, he had his catchphrases and very few hours went by without a "Holy Crap" from his sweet face. He charmed all he met and was a galvanizer. As we saw, even after his tragic passing, he brought an entire community together and taught us how to celebrate life each and every day. This is just what we plan to do on April 26th at the third golf outing in his honor.
While Matthew loved so many, he especially loved being with his brother. Living on the golf course, they began a thriving business of golf ball reclamation. They would scour the golf course for lost balls, clean them feverishly, and earn money selling the balls back to players. The balls he found are showcased proudly in his parents' homes. The Bay Hills Golf Course was his backyard and there's no better venue to celebrate him.
As you play the tournament, keep your eyes open for Matthew's friends and classmates there to celebrate him. These young people were the backbone of support for his brother Patrick, his parents Doug and Monica, and his entire family during the worst time of their lives, and we are thrilled to gather in merriment to begin this new tradition on the course. Please join us, as a golfer, a sponsor, or a volunteer on April 26th for this special and memorable event!
